What a single girl should get herself for the holidays:

Let’s face it.  It should not be any pity party when you are single around the holidays.  Sure, you may feel a little left out and maybe a little jealous that your best friend just got the exact same necklace you’ve been pining over from Tiffany’s, but why not buy yourself a little something this year?  This is my Top 5 items a single girl should buy or do for herself this Christmas:

5) Why not buy that Tiffany’s necklace yourself?  Why wait around for a man to buy you the necklace you’ve always wanted? I say, if you have the money, treat yourself (because honestly, you’d be spending a crapload of $$ on your man if you were in a relationship, anyhow.)

4) Manis, Pedis, Massages and Facials. It’s these kinds of luxuries that really count, and they never fail at making you feel damn good about yourself.  Nice nails, pretty feet, fresh skin and your body all rubbed out of its physical and emotional disagreements with life = instant attitude booster.  When feeling good about yourself, one cannot deny feeling good about life itself.

3) A new cute pajama set.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my go-to tiny sleeping shorts and t-shirt that I constantly wear to bed, but sometimes a new cute lingerie set (must be soft and satiny or shiny!) is just the thing for a better night’s sleep.  There’s something sexy about sleeping sexy.

2) Plan a get-together or dinner with your closest girlfriends. What’s better than a night of endless bottles of wine and laughs with your closest friends? This can be a sort of pre-New Years recap of the year that you have spent making endless and outrageous memories with one another.  Nights like these can lift your spirits higher than you remember possible and create or reinforce that “get out there and live my life for me” mood. Very necessary.

1) That ONE thing that you have been putting off to buy…like those amazing Christian Louboutin ”Lady Page” heels you cannot stop obsessing over, or a Kate Spade OCRACOKE STEVIE bag that has definitely been calling out to you for some time now, or maybe some new art supplies, or perhaps a 42” Plasma TV for your new room.  Life gets in the way of these things, so maybe this holiday season, you think about that one you really have been putting off and treat yourself!
